The American Alliance for Theater and Education (AATE) Conference 2022

July 2022

Elana is thrilled to be representing Fuse Theater at the AATE Conference 2022 in Providence, Rhode Island. She will be leading a workshop on creating theater over distance, centered around Fuse's 2021 mail production "Special Delivery." She will also be working behind the scenes at Fuse's presentation of "What We Remember," a multicultural coming of age story that uses the traditional Thai art of shadow puppetry to explore the intersectional identities of the play's two main actors and creators.

" The Urgency of Now "

January 2022

Using fragments of essays by 5th and 6th graders, Elana created a found poetry-style script for "The Urgency of Now," a performance project developed through a partnership between Fuse Theater and Breakthrough Project for Social Justice in Lodi, California.

Students were tasked with responding to MLK's speech on the importance of taking action and working towards social change. The final project was performed by community members and visiting teaching artists on MLK Day and streamed live from the California Islamic Center.
